History
ITV: Uganda is a branch of the non-profit organization It Takes a Village: Global
ITV-Uganda emerged from a collaborative workshop between counselors and counselors-in-training from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon, USA and Bishop Magambo Counsellor Training Institute (BMCTI) in Fort Portal, Uganda.
After having the opportunity to work and co-learn with students studying counseling at BMCTI, ITV Uganda joined ITV Global, and was launched. ITV Uganda strives to help expand the impact Ugandan counselors are making in Fort Portal and the surrounding region.
ITV Uganda operates from the understanding that Ugandans are the most knowledgeable and aware about what is needed to promote greater well-being for Ugandans.
We help connect interested community members, counselors, and counselors-in-training in rural Uganda with much needed educational and financial resources.
We strive to provide needed resources to help Ugandan counselors facilitate healing and empowerment for their local and regional communities.
